The Broadway Blockbusters program provides an opportunity for gifted talent, typically ages 13 and up, to learn from the best professional performing artists in the New York Metropolitan area and then perform live on stage with them in a Broadway-type musical for a limited run. The program offers affordable ticket pricing to the general public and also partners with the Theater Development Fund to offer free tickets to young children and adults otherwise unable to afford them. Since its inception in 2001-2002, this amazing program has reached thousands of people. Broadway Blockbusters applicants must audition and be an above average talent who the casting director feels fits in to the particular program of the year. There is no fee, if accepted into the program. Typically auditions are offered in May, performances take place in August. Additionally, The Josephine Foundation Seniors Citizen Discounted Tickets Initiative allows senior programs discounted tickets and transportation to and from the venue.
